On June 11th, the world woke up to the news of ISIS (The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant* -alternatively translated as Islamic State in Iraq and Syria-) taking over major cities in Iraq and advancing towards Baghdad. This was not, of course, news to the people who have been following the situation in the region since the invasion of Iraq, but for many, ISIS is the new genie in the bottle.
